Event in Nelson and more .....
Hello One and All,

What I will say here is that if I had carefully planned a personal holiday I would not have enjoyed myself more! There was magic around every corner. I said it when I made my last entry before leaving Vancouver. 'We are going on an adventure' and it was an adventure beyond what we could have ever have dreamt up on our own.
We met with two open hearts, Betty and Gill, and that was all we needed to ensure the success of the venture. That is what made all the difference. I had spoken with Betty in the past by telephone and I had met Gill briefly during out celebration of M's 40th anniversary at Stanley Park. When I met them over the weekend it was as if I had always known them. Except I surprised them by being neither East Indian nor Black as they had imagined.
Betty welcomed us to her home in Grand Forks. A more beautiful setting we could not have asked for. A sweet little house with a garden edged in flowers, tucked into a hillside at the edge of a rural country road overlooking a vast field and surrounded by forest and the scent of rugosa roses and bird song in the air. Even a happy dog with a tail that curled over her back in a full circle! Who could ask for more. We ate borsch, salad from the garden, brown bread and fondue and shared and shared.

Saturday was a total adventure involving a visionary "new ager" at his utopian homestead in the forest where we celebrated the summer equinox, in an underground kiva and addressed our fellow celbrants with heartfelt words, talking stick in hand. During the tasty meal of foods grown in humanure, no less, we extended an invitation to one and all to join us the following day, at the event in Nelson and pressed an introductory DVD into their hand before we left. We than drove around until we came upon the minature donkeys and sheep ....
Sunday morning, Betty was the first out the door to pick up the guests she had invited to the event two hours away in Nelson. With her permission we picked a big vase of flowers to take with us and also hit the road for Nelson.
Gill hosted the event at his edgy, laidback, colourful Mexican restaurant - El Taco.
When we arrived everything was ready. The dining room set up with tables and chairs, the coffee and muffins out. We put out the flowers and a selection of intoductory give-aways we had brought with us and people began arriving. All twenty two of them, half of them new people and half premies. We did a quick final tweaking to the program and Gill took the floor.
The program itself had evolved over the days prior, to be just right on the day. A good dash of introductory for those who had come for the first time. We used the first part of the new DVD "Happiness", a short break, followed at Judith's suggestion of the Interview by Marta Robles. That concluded the intro. section and we broke for fresh salsa and nachos. Lisa, or videographer, who had been capturing moments all along the trip. (Including Judith and myself under the car hood securing a truant sparkplug cover with a bungie cord). Began inviting those that wanted to come forward and take the opportunity of addressing a message to M. which she then captured on film.
The second half of the event started with a 7 minute inspriational DVD selected just the night before after we watched it and decided it would be a great addition, followed by an Introduciton to TPRF's Food for People for those that did not know about this work and a half hour DVD created for the Resource Team that talks about M's recent projects and goals and M shares his clarity.
Something for everyone.

Hugs and 'thank yous' all around and we were off to Vancouver. We were riding high on gratitude and appreciation. The veiws were awe inspiring and all the more beautiful viewed with full hearts! We made it back safely to Vancouver by about 11:30.
Thank you to each and everyone of you for whatever you know you contributed to make this effort a success.
As I write, I know that this is only the beginning. I checked earlier. Lisa is using the photos and the footage she shot, to create our invitation inviting M to the Kootney region for a visit. Judith has been investigating the airports in the area. She is already planning a second visit on the weekend of the 11th and 12th July together with Kirk. I will keep you posted.
