South Main Peace Flix
Two Saturday's ago on October 13 we held the first event in our first series of South Main Peace Flix. We showed the 32 min Intro to Prem Rawat from the Words of Peace DVD, played music, had refreshements and then watched 28 min'Discovering More'. We had six guests and 5 volunteers. All the guests stayed for 'Discovering More' altho we gave them ample time to leave if they didn't want to continue after the intro DVD.
Then last Saturday 3 of our guests returned to see 'Introduction to the Keys'. We also had 2 sets of Key 1 available, plus a computer, so after the 1-hr DVD, we had refreshments and music while people filled in all the paperwork and we registered them online.
Two people left with Key 1 and we're delivering the 3rd Key 1 today.
We are a team of 5: me, Judith, Bob, Richard and Gary. Our motto is 'Prem Rawat, and good things to hear, smell, taste and see'. We don't play up the 'good things to hear, smell, taste and see' but instead the idea is to surprise our guests with our loving offerings. But our guests also surprised us! - for the ITTK two of them arrived with snacks! After all the guests left, we had an impromptu dance to Gary's acoustic guitar.
Part of our success was because we learned from Toronto, and I followed up with each guest between events and personally reminded them that the ITTK was coming up. It was a little challenging, but well worth it.
I'm looking forward to our next series which starts with an Intro event on Saturday, Nov 10 3-4:30 pm and is followed a week later with another ITTK event!
Are u thinking of hosting an event? Take my advice: have live music!
